What Those Around America Are Saying About RU...
"Immorality was not part of my life - it was my life. I never thought there was hope available for someone like me. I tried changing my life at least 50 different times. I thought that working harder for God might help. that led me to a Bible camp, Bible College, youth conferences, and other events that good Christians attended. I would get fired up for for or five minutes after the meeting. That fervent desire for God never lasted - I always fell.
I went to counseling for 6 months with my Pastor. I tried different programs, books, resources and materials. Nothing worked. During one weekly meeting my pastor handed me an application to the RUI Men's School of Discipleship and told me to "fill it out!" Three days later, I arrived at the Men's Home in Rockford, Illinois.
God began to work in my heart. I met people who had found victory over their addiction and this gave me hope. Hope I never had. However, I still had guilt and shame that I struggled to overcome.
At first it took me a while to realize the importance of the curriculum. I walked into the Men's Home Dean's office and asked him if he had anything "besides" what I had been given that would help overcome the addiction in my life. He told me that there was a Book that would work-the Bible. He further explained the Daily Journal and told me how much it meant to him personally.
God used this program to change my life. Several months later, God began to work on my heart regarding full-time ministry. I had a desire to serve him completely with my life. I wanted to be a vessel that God could use in a powerful way. When I graduated from the Men's Home in 2004, it was the first thing I had ever completed..."
